In an effort to retain the No 1 Port Authority status and to achieve the stated objective of becoming the Hub Port for the SADC region, Namport is continuously maintaining, upgrading and improving its infrastructure and facilities to its valued customers.

In this regard the Namibian Ports Authority wishes to announce the commencement of routine maintenance dredging in the Namibian ports of Walvis Bay and Luderitz.

All dredging will be based on ruling Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plans (EMP) criteria as agreed with the Ministries of Transport and Communications; Environment and Tourism; Fisheries and Marine Resources; Mines and Energy.

Namport will adhere to the same conditions as in 2000.
