Friday 5th of December 2003 A new two-year long diploma course in computer science as well as a four-year degree programme in the same field will be offered next year by the University of Namibia. This was made possible by the joint efforts of Unam and the African Virtual University (AVU) in partnership with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. Announcing the new development through a pres statement, UNAM said the new courses aimed to produce graduates who would be knowledgeable, creative with programming skills, and able to handle complex software systems. The deadline for all applications for these 2 new courses is 9 December. Applicants can phone the faculty of science at 061-206 3047 for detailed information. Using the internet and satellite communication learning centres, the AVU delivers higher education programmes across Africa in partnership with overseas educational institutions. |
