Friday 5th of December 2003 MTC announced that the travel allowance to Clubs will be increased to N$ 1500 per club (last year N$ 800). And they will sponsor the big tournament which helps develop soccer in the country, for the third consecutive year. The tournament will take place on two weekends, first in Otjiwarongo and Windhoek and then in Walvis Bay, where the final will be played on 14 December at 16h00. Next year the final is planned for the new Oshakati Stadium. The draw for this weekend was: Group A in Otjiwarongo: Black Africa - Blue Waters Friends - Golden Bees Ramblers - Chief Santos Benfica - Orlando Pirates and in Windhoek the following matches take place: Tigers - Civics Liverpool - Life Fighters Mae Dae - Ashakati City Eleven Arrows - African Stars The General Manager of MTC, Mr Uirab, said that the level of the game is improving from year to year. He was very delighted that the event will maintain a high standard of football. Prizes and Awards: The winning team gets N$ 28 000 + 30 Gold Medals + Trophy The Runners-Up get N$ 17 000 + 30 Silver Medals 3rd place: N$ 10 000 + 30 Bronze 4th place: N$ 7 000 There are prizes for the Player of the tournament, the top goalscorer, the man of the match, best media coverage, referee of the tournament, best administrator and best disciplined team as well as the Coach of the tournament. |
