Saturday 31st of January 2004 WINDHOEK OPTICS RAMBLERS Windhoek Optics Ramblers easily beat Major Power 10:0 in a first round match of the NFA Cup last weekend in Walvis Bay. The goalscorers were Michael Pienaar(3), Costa Khaiseb(2), Charlie Aoseb(2), Ali Majiedt(2) and Rudolf Helu. We will now face Young Chiefs in the second round of the NFA Cup that is scheduled for 28 February in Mariental. This weekend we are back in Premier league action and will play Orlando Pirates on Sunday at 15H00 at home. The next big draw is on Saturday, 27 March 2004 and will be combined with a dance. Last Friday night Hennie Kruger was not present at 19H00 to claim the weekly jackpot of N$ 1050. This means that this Friday night N$ 1100 can be won provided that you and/or your spouse are present when your number is drawn at 19H00. What a way to start the year! OLD BOYS Ramblers Old Boys won the popular 5-a-side tournament for social teams held on 20-21 December in Swakop-mund last year. Well done guys! The team consisted of Christopher Hentzen, Mark Kutzner, Axel Dainat, Gero Diekmann, Butzi Schulze, Lorenz von Somnitz, Hubertus Hamm and Harald Hecht. In the Xmas Cup, however, the Old Boys team disappointed and could not advance to the finals. Training has started and the first tournament of the year will be held in Otjiwarongo on 14-15 February and will be played in the 7-a-side format. TOP SCORE The popular Top Score seven a side tournament for companies will start next Friday, 6 February. The section for men will be played in the 7-a-side format and entrance fees will be N$ 1600 per team. We will once again have a 5-a-side tournament for ladies where the entrance fees will be N$ 1000 per team. |
