A new book will be launched in Swakopmund next week. "!Nara - Fruit for development of the !Khuiseb Topnaar" was edited by Joh Henschel, Rudolf Dausab, Petra Moser & John Pallett. The book describes the !Nara plant, which is utilised by the Topnaar tribe along the Kuiseb River for centuries. The authors make suggestions hoe the plant could be used commercially to provide a larger income for the Topnaar people. Guest speaker at the launch will be Topnaar Chief Seth Kooitjie of Homeb and Walvis Bay. The launch takes place on Friday, 20 February 2004 at 17h30 at the Swakopmund Museum The book is published by the Namibia Scientific Society and will be on sale during the evening at a special price of N$ 95.00.
