WINDHOEK OPTICS RAMBLERS It was another good weekend for Windhoek Optics Ramblers when we collected six points and scored 17 goals at home!

On Saturday we came up against Oshakati City. Ramblers were in outstanding form and won this match 10:3 in most convincing fashion. Costa Khaiseb (3), Ali Majiedt (3), Henrico Botes (2), Michael Pienaar (1) and Rudolf Helu (1) scored for Ramblers. In Sundays encounter played seventh placed Benfica from Tsumeb. Windhoek Optics Ramblers once again played with total passion and determination and were leading 4:0 at half time through goals by Ali Majiedt, Henrico Botes, Chris Nauseb and Costa Khaiseb. In the second half Costa Khaiseb scored another two goals and Michael Pienaar added the seventhfor Windhoek Optics Ramblers. Benfica scored two consolation goals in the dying minutes of the game. Final score: Windhoek Optics Ramblers 7 - Benfica 2.

The first round of the Premier League has now been completed and we are currently in fourth position on the logstandings.

Costa Khaiseb is still the top goalscorer in the Premier League with twenty goals!!

Congratulations to the coaching team of Dawid Snewe, Tollie van Wyk and Jorge da Purificacao as well as all the players on very fine performances indeed!! At the time of going to press it was uncertain as to where we are going to play this weekend.

HOCKEY

The Indoor Hockey League started two weeks ago and the following results were received for last week: Ladies Premier: beat Wanderers 2-1 with Anke Haensel and Silke Pennefather the goalscorers . They also beat Old Boys 3-1 with Silke Pennefather (2) and Anke Haensel the goalscorers.

Last Monday night our girls proved that they are also capable in bringing in high scores just like their male counterparts fom Windhoek Optics Ramblers when they beat DTS 8-1!! Goalscorers were Christa Kayser (2), Silke Pennefather (2), Hybrie Hayes, Juanita Thorburn, Yolande Fourie and Anke Haensel. And Ramblers are leading the log!

Congratulations ladies and keep up the excellent work!!

Ladies First: beat DTS 1-0 with Christa Kayser doing the honours for Ramblers. They also lost 1-5 to Old Boys with Sonia Meyer scoring the consolation goal for Ramblers. Men Premier: drew 2-2 with DTS. Both Ramblers goals were scored by Gordon Sparrows.

WINDHOEK OPTICS LADIES / TOP SCORE 7-a-SIDE Our ladies easily beat NBC 5:0 last Friday night. Goalscorers were Andrea Beiter (2), Dietlind Foerster (2) and Silke Pennefather (1).

Well done, ladies!!

The first round of the popular Top Score 7-a-side tournament was a resounding success with more than 600 people enjoying the super atmosphere!!

Results of last week and the fixtures for this Friday appear in this issue of PLUS.

OLD BOYS

Ramblers Old Boys ended in second place in the 7-a-side tournament in Otjiwarongo last weekend. In the crucial game against SKW we lost narrowly by a solitary goal. SKW went on to win the tournament. VIP

Hennie Kruger was not at the Club to claim the jackpot last Friday night. This means that the Friday jackpot is now at N$ 200.

RAMBLERS RESERVE TEAM We will start with a Ramblers Reserve team this year for all scholars over the age of sixteen years. Training will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17H00 to 18H30 at Ramblers and starts on 02 March 2004!! The coach will be Richard Wahl.
