A follow up volume on desert plants in the Namib was launched by the Namibia Scientific Society last week. Antje Burke (photo), ecologist, researcher and environmental consultant, has now completed „Wild flowers of the Central Namib", after the one on plants in the southern Namib was printed last year. In A 5 format, the book describes on 112 pages the hidden treasures of the Namib’s rich and fascinating landscape in short and concise articles. High quality photos and drawings by the author add to the value of this truly fascinating book. A generous contribution of Namdeb this second book and the English as well as the German version of „Wild flowers of the southern Namib" could be printed. The English version is nearly sold out in less than a year and a reprint is organised. A German language version for the edition launched last week on the central Namib will follow in a few months as well. Both books are published by the Namibia Scientific Society and were printed by John Meinert Printing. Recommended price: N$ 125.
