WINDHOEK OPTICS RAMBLERS

Windhoek Optics Ramblers beat Orlando Pirates 4:1 last weekend in Oshakati to advance to the semi final of the Sam Nujoma Cup!! In a thrilling cup encounter Orlando Pirates were leading 1:0 at half time after Ramblers could not capitalise on the numerous chances created. In the second half Ramblers dominated completely and scored four goals in eighteen minutes. Man of the match, Michael Pienaar, scored the equaliser with a well taken header and shortly thereafter the goal machine, Costa Khaiseb, put Windhoek Optics Ramblers in the lead. Therafter Michael Pienaar scored two more brilliant goals, both times dribbling past the Orlando Pirates goalkeeper. Well done, Michael!!

This result means that once again we are among the top four teams of a major competition and we are holding thumbs that this time Windhoek Optics Ramblers will advance to the final. We will play Chief Santos at 12H00 on Saturday, 20 March 2004 at the Kuisebmond Stadium in Walvis Bay in the semi finals. The finals will be played on Sunday, 21 March at 15H00 in Kuisebmond as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

The entire Ramblers Club will be holding thumbs for coach Dawid Snewe and his team for this weekend!! Good luck guys!

Last Monday night, however, our boys caused the upset of the season when they beat current logleaders Unam 6:5 with Reagon Craig scoring the winning goal in the last second of the game!! Goalscorers for Ramblers were Reagon Craig(3), Jan Steenkamp(1) and newly recruited Grant(2). Well done Ramblers!!

Ladies First: Ramblers lost to WOBC last Friday night 0:2.
