Rössing Uranium will have to take a tough decision during the course of this year – extend the life span of the world’s largest open pit uranium mine for another ten years or close it down by 2010. Both potential scenarios are being evaluated currently from the economic, social and environmental perspective. In an unusual move, Rössing Uranium invited employees, interested citizens and "business colleagues" through large advertisements for open house days on Friday, 14 March at the Rössing Foundation Centre in Khomasdal (13h00 to 20h00) and Saturday, 15 March (08h00 – 13h00).
