WINDHOEK OPTICS RAMBLERS

Windhoek Optics Ramblers expe-rienced a disappointing start to the second round of the Premier League last weekend. On Saturday we could only manage a 1:1 against My Dae Chiefs in Gobabis. Chris Nauseb scored for Ramblers.

Sunday’s game against Black Africa in Katutura did not produce the desired revenge for the defeat in the Sam Nujoma Cup final played a week earlier. Ramblers dominated the first half, but it was Black Africa who scored just before half time. In the second half Chris Nauseb received a red card and soon thereafter Black Africa increased the score to 0:2. Despite playing with ten men only, Ramblers launched numerous attacks on the Black Africa goal in the last twenty minutes, but could only manage a consolation goal by Henrico Botes.

After an absence of eight weeks we are playing two games at home this weekend:

Saturday, 18H00 Windhoek Optics Ramblers vs Golden Bees

Sunday, 15H00 Windhoek Optics Ramblers vs Chief Santos

Good luck guys!

RAMBLERS OLD BOYS

Last weekend we were hosts to the Lufthansa Cargo Bulls from Frankfurt.

The slogan of their Club is "blue is the colour, football is the game".

It, therefore, came as no surprise, that we made very good friends with Stephan Henting and Kalli Radenbach and their team. The friendly game was played in typical Old Boys fashion with a minimum of tackles and fouls being committed. Ramblers won this game 4:1 with Heiko Denker (2) and Mario Reiter(1) and Sven Staby(1) the goalscorers, but the actual winner was football.

The "third half" of the game was enjoyed by everybody with braaivleis and beer at the club house.

A follow up visit to Germany is planned for 2006 and we have invited Lufthansa Cargo Bulls for our 60th anniversary celebrations next year!!

The Old Boys league will start on 14 April 2004 with a game against DTS.

FORMULA ONE
