Saturday 15th of May 2004 WINDHOEK OPTICS RAMBLERS Windhoek Optics Ramblers are playing Black Africa this weekend in the quarter final of the prestigious NFA Cup.The game is scheduled for Saturday,15 May at 13H00 in Otjiwarongo. Most of the injured players should be back in action and the squad has been training very hard to prepare for this very important game. We wish coach Fellah Snewe and his team the best of luck for this weekend!! HOCKEY The indoor league has been completed now and here are the final logstandings for the Ramblers teams: Ladies Premier Winners Men’s Premier Runners-up Ladies First 3rd Men’s First 5th Second Ladies 3rd The following Namibian Hockey Union awards went to Ramblers players: Heike Neuburg - Best 2nd league goalkeeper Birte Kersten - most improved first team player Candice Coetzee - best defender in first league Dagmar Räntsch - hacker for first league ladies Coenie Wessels - hacker for premier men’s Monika Ihms - best premier ladies goalkeeper Silke Pennefather - most consistent player Most improved Premier Ladies Player was Juanita Thorburn Yolande Fourie & Silke Pennefather - share best ladies players for 2004 Reagon Craig - best men’s player for 2004 Congratulations, Ramblers Hockey!! RAMBLERS STRIDERS 15 athletes from Ramblers participated in the Midgard marathon held last weekend. In the 21km run for women(veterans) Annemarie Martins came second whilst Leon Köhne ended in sixth position in the men’s division for veterans. Congratulations on these outstanding results!! Other athletes that took part were Louis Prinsloo, Sylvia Bessinger, Martin & Rochelle Spangenberg, Annelle van Zyl, Karin Bester, Annette Köhne, Ronelle Swart, Adri van Vuuren, Daleen Blaauw, Annatjie Snyman, Annemarie Hoenck and Karin du Plooy. Peter Marius Snyman was the team manager. AGM Please diarise Thursday, 10 June 2004 for our annual general meeting that is scheduled for 19H00 at the club house. All members and interested persons are invited to attend. CLUB CLOSED In order to give a Albert a well deserved break the committee has decided to close the Club over the coming public holidays including the weekend. The Club will, therefore, be closed from 20-25 May 2004. Your understanding in this matter is much appreciated. VIP Joseph Martin was not at the Club last Friday night at 19H00 to claim the N$ 500 jackpot. N$ 600 is thus up for grabs this Friday evening. See you all there!!
