The weekend of 26 and 27 June sees the highlight in the local surfing calendar with the annual National Surfing Championships at Thicklip. All surfers are welcome to enter (entry forms will be available at Get Wet Surf Shop, Crazy Corner Cafe and Radiowave in Windhoek). We hope to see a good turnout of Namibians and some surfers who should get out of the woodwork.

The categories are: Development, Academy, Bodyboard, Ladies, Junior, Longnoard and Open surfing. We are also planning some fun events - conditions permitting. The event is sponsored by Radiowave and Maersk and there will be live broadcasting from Radiowave as in the past to keep up the date on the action. These two sponsors have helped Surfing Namibia develop.

So come to Thicklip (on Strand Street, at the skateboarding ramp) in Swakopmund and watch the surfers carve lines in the Atlantic ocean. There will be food and other beverages available.
