Friday 16th of July 2004
On July 8th, the Namibian Academy of Tourism and Hospitality, NATH and the Tour and Safari Association of Namibia, TASA entered into a new Bursary agreement to enable two students to achieve Tour Guiding qualifications in Namibia. As in the past, willing learners with no or only limited tourism knowledge, will be given this opportunity to start or further their studies at NATH. This agreement shows once again, the active support of the industry to ensure that more Namibians have the chance to become involved in the fastest growing sector of the Namibian economy. TASA has proudly sponsored 5 students in the past, who are currently busy guiding guests throughout Namibia. These guides, like all others trained by NATH have learned that it is just as important to convey a love and enthusiasm for Namibia to our visitors as it is to present them with facts and knowledge. All Namibians interested in the new bursaries can apply directly to TASA to begin studies at NATH for a Badge I or an equivalent qualification within the new Unit standards.
