Swakop Youngsters, SKW 2 and SKW 3 still unbeaten

In fabulous weather conditions, the third League round of the National Fistball League took place this weekend at the SKW sports field in Olympia.

In the National ‘ A ‘ league, SKW 2 wanted to prove that their win against SKW 1 was not a fluke and further wanted to take a big step closer to clinch the league title. The team started this very important game very determined and steamrolled over their opposition and the won the first set 20:9. But SKW 1 had other ideas in the second set and came back with guts and were already leading 16:12, when SKW 2 called for at tactical time-out to break the streak and proved right, as they found back to their strength and spiked in 8 consecutive points in a row to win the second set and game. SKW 2 now leads the league by 4 points. Both coastal teams had mixed fortunes, and both could not make any impact on the current league standings. Remarkable however is that the Veterans gain managed to win a set against their first team.

The National ‘B ‘ league played their decisive round to determine the play-off rankings, and SKW 3 managed to clinch the first spot win two wins against their direct hottest rivals Cohen 3, who were however a bit handicapped , as their main spiker was not available through the work commitment. Swakop 3 lost ground and fell out of the top four, where SKW 4 made the biggest jump to three. The play-offs will now be played SKW 3, Cohen 3, SKW 4 and Cohen 4.

All team Managers deicide that Florian Zwar of Swakop will be awarded with the player of day trophy.
