Wednesday 19th of March 2003 Windhoek Optics has sponsored the 2003 Open Chess Tournament to the tune of N$ 8000. There are in fact so many attractive prizes that even players from South Africa want to take part this year. The Windhoek Optics Open Chess Tournament will take place from 1 to 5 May at the VIP Lounge of the Namibian Breweries (Windhoek Show Grounds) and it promises to become the biggest tournament for adults, students and scholars ever. The format (7 Rounds) is quite interesting and not too complicated, but it provides everybody with a chance to gain maximum points, even if you lose!
