"Omaruru Once Upon A Time ...", the most recent history of Omaruru, will be available to the public on Sunday, 1 August 2004, at Omaruru Souvenirs in Omaruru at 122 Willem Zeraua Street, the North end of main street.

Written by Lisa Pesch and Gudrun Murray in German, translated by Ms.

Murray into English, and the English then edited by Jean Fischer, all well-known local artisans each in her own field of expertise. Gudrun Murray was the driving force behind the project. Ms Murray said, "The initial collection of photographs was displayed at the ‘Wronsky House’ during the Christmas season in 2001. It was so well received by the residents of Omaruru that we decided to continue collecting both photos and anecdotal stories."

Lisa Pesch is credited as the researcher who has put such effort into the accuracy of the dates and anecdotes. The booklet is a tribute to her patient hours of dedicated work. The culmination is Sunday’s release of the nearly thirty page booklet, packed with historical information and containing more than forty photographs and illustrations from the 1870’s until the present, it will be offered to the public at a price of N$35.00.
